Roxbury District Court
The client was charged with Larceny. The government alleged that he was part of a car repair scam in which money is taken, the car is held for some period of days, a phony work receipt is drawn up, and then the car is returned to the owner, with little or no work performed. At trial, Attorney Brant proved that the government witnesses were just not believable and that the witnesses, not the client, may have been the ones trying to pull a scam.

The police got a Domestic Violence report, a woman claiming that her boyfriend had assaulted her and hit her. The police came to the scene, spoke to the woman only, and then arrested my client. In fact, through investigation, Attorney Brant was able to prove that there was no assault at all, that at most it was an argument that resulted in the woman driving off in a rage and looking to retaliate at the boyfriend.

Suffolk Superior Court
A man was alleged to have been attacked and robbed by several young men late at night. The man suffered very serious life-threatening injuries. The client was indicted as a result of this incident, as he was identified as one of the attackers. The government was seeking a long state prison sentence on his client. Attorney Brant impressed upon the court his client's lack of any prior record, his strong family and community ties, solid work history, and showed that his client was not one of the main assailants. The court was persuaded by these factors and sentenced his client to a minimal 6 month jail time.

Boston Municipal Court
The client was arrested and charged with several counts for Assault and Battery, and Breaking and Entering. The government sought convictions on all charges but Attorney Brant was able to persuade the prosecution and The Court not to enter convictions on his client’s record. Attorney Brant showed that his client had a great background, and a promising future, and that this was a one-time occurrence.

Boston Municipal Court
The client was arrested by the Boston Police and charged with Assault and Battery. Attorney Brant investigated the case and subsequently filed several Motions to Dismiss based upon procedure, investigation weaknesses, and lack of evidence. The prosecution agreed that the charges should be dropped.

Somerville District Court
The client is a hard working contractor who was arrested and charged with several violent crimes, most notably Kidnapping and Aggravated Assault and Battery. The government contended that several eyewitnesses saw him brutally attack and assault a woman and attempt to kidnap her. The government was seeking extensive jail time. Attorney Brant argued that these witnesses did not see the complete picture of what happened, that in fact most of what they “saw” was harmless. The judge agreed with Attorney Brant and did not send his client to jail.

The client was in custody facing numerous Probation Violations. The Probation Officer was seeking a minimum of 1 year in jail. Attorney Brant argued to the Court that his client was deserving of another chance, that he had made progress in many facets of his life, that he had corrected the ways of his past. The Court agreed with Attorney Brant and freed his client

The client, a businessman, was charged with Criminal Harassment. With absolutely no prior record, these allegations did not represent the man who had led a respected and blemish-free life. Despite the seriousness of the allegations, and the government's intention to seek a conviction, Attorney Brant was able to convince both the District Attorney's Office and the Court that a conviction was not necessary.

South Boston District Court
The client, a business executive, was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault and Battery and Intimidation of a Witness. The government alleged that they had both physical evidence, photographs, and witnesses to prove their case. Attorney Brant argued that the "evidence" was inconclusive and that the charges could not be proved. The Court agreed.

The client was charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, which carried a minimum mandatory sentence of 5 years in state prison. Despite many plea offers to either probation or reduced charges, Attorney Brant held firm and professed his client's innocence. On the morning of trial, as Attorney Brant was ready to address the jury, the prosecution dropped the case.

South Boston District Court
A man was at an event that was closing up. He was asked to leave. He responded by beginning to leave but it apparently was not quick enough. Police arrived and arrested him for Disorderly Person, and then Assault and Battery on a Police Officer. Through negotiation, Attorney Brant convinced the prosecution to drop the case.

East Boston District Court
A young man was charged with Assault and Battery for an alleged street fight. Attorney Brant argued that the identification was weak, and that his client could not be proved as having been the combatant.

Dorchester District Court
The client was arrested by the police and charged with Enticement of a Child. They alleged that he was involved with trying to set up minors for the purposes of sexual encounters. Through attacking the search and seizure methods employed by the police, Attorney Brant was able to negotiate a plea to a much less serious charge.

Plymouth District Court
The client was charged with Larceny, stealing large amounts of money from a company that he worked for. Attorney Brant proved that the evidence was not enough to convict his client.

Wareham Ditrict Court
The client is a young man who was arrested at the scene of a single car accident for drunk driving. They charged that it was his 2nd Offense. Police allege that he had an overwhelming smell of alcohol, slurred his words, and admitted to drinking at least 6 shots and beers. The police testified that he was too drunk to do any field sobriety tests. Through cross examination at the jury trial, Attorney Brant questioned the "strength" of their evidence. The jury agreed.

The client was charged with assaulting and severely stabbing a man. The client was one of 3 men who were identified. Attorney Brant argued that the evidence was flawed and that the identification was weak. At trial, Attorney Brant successfully argued that the case should be dismissed even before it went to the jury to decide. The Court agreed.

Boston Municipal Court
The client was charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Attorney Brant argued that the evidence did not satisfy the portion of the charge of "dangerous weapon" and that the client should not have a conviction on his record. The Court agreed and reduced the charge from the felony to a simple misdemeanor of Assault and Battery.

Cambridge District Court
The client was charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Breaking and Entering, and Attempted Larceny. He had gotten into a discussion with another motorist that escalated. The police alleged that he hit the other driver, that he broke into his car, and attempted to steal it. At trial Attorney Brant challenged the strength of the government's evidence as being weak and not believable. The jury agreed.

Newburyport District Court
The client had absolutely no criminal record. He was arrested and accused of Indecent Assault and Battery. Attorney Brant argued that the evidence was very weak and that the allegations were just untrue.

Suffolk Superior Court
The client was charged with various indictments charging sexual offenses over a period of years. One of the indictments carried with it a mandatory minimum state prison term of at least 15 years. At a week long trial, Attorney Brant argued that the evidence was just not strong enough to convict his client. The jury acquitted the client of all of the most serious indictments, including the one that carried the 15 year mandatory minimum; convicting him of just 1 indictment.

The client was arrested for drug offenses in 2 different cities within a short time period. Even though both prosecutors were seeking jail time, Attorney Brant convinced judges in both courts to Continue the Cases Without Findings.

Lynn District Court
The client was arrested by the police and charged with Armed Assault with Intent to Murder. He was held on high bail. Attorney Brant got his bail reduced and he was released. Through investigation, Attorney Brant was able to prove that his client was not the aggressor; that he was assisting another who had been attacked. Through negotiation, Attorney Brant was able to get all the serious charges thrown out and the client only pled guilty to a misdemeanor and the case was over.

Middlesex Superior Court
The client was indicted for a series of crimes that happened over a period of years in which the client was alleged to have planned and carried out a scheme to get people fake driver's licenses. The Attorney General's Office prosecuted the case and wanted the client to go to state prison. Attorney Brant negotiated a plea deal where the client only got a probation term.

Framingham District Court
Police searched the client's house and found several firearms, and arrested the client. Attorney Brant argued that the search was unjustified and illegal.

The client was charged with stealing many thousands of dollars from a state agency through a long-term pattern. The prosecutors were seeking a long period of incarceration at the state prison for the client. Through an extended period of negotiation, Attorney Brant was able to convince the court and the prosecution that probation, not prison, was the right sentence for the client.

Roxbury District Court
The client was arrested for Trafficking Heroin in a School Zone. As charged, he faced a mandatory minimum of at least 7 years in jail. That means he would have to serve every single day of that 7 years. Through investigation and negotiation, Attorney Brant persuaded the government that the evidence was not that strong and that the client was deserving of lesser charges and a lesser sentence. Attorney Brant convinced the government to offer his client just probation and not do a single day in jail. Result-Client receives probation; mandatory minimum sentences thrown out.

The client was charged with doing a tremendous amount of damage to a building. Attorney Brant investigated the allegations and proved that the client could not be identified, that he could not be placed at the location at the time of the damage, and that no credible evidence supported the charges. The client was charged by the police with Possession of a Firearm which carries a minimum mandatory sentence of 1 year in jail in Massachusetts; the person would have to serve every day in jail for that year, no early releases are possible. Attorney Brant presented the prosecutors with many mitigating factors that the government ultimately took into consideration. Attorney Brant convinced the government that his client should not go to jail, that he should not have any conviction on his record.

A college student was arrested by the police after a stop and search and charged with several alcohol and assault offenses. Attorney Brant argued that this stop and search by the police was unconstitutional and that the case should be thrown out. The Court agreed.

A father of 3 young children was stopped by the police after a long chase through the streets in the early morning hours. Attorney Brant argued that the police action was unnecessary and that the charges should be dismissed. The Court agreed.

Fitchburg District Court
The client was a foreman on a construction job responsible for over 25 workers. He was charged with attacking one of the workers, strangling him by the throat and throwing him into a fence. At trial, through cross-examination of the alleged victim and the government witnesses, Attorney Brant argued that no fight ever occurred, that there were no injuries, and that the allegations were simply lies. The jury agreed.

The client was arrested by the police for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. They alleged that the client was in a fight and used a weapon against 2 people who were injured in the fight. Through investigation, Attorney Brant proved that the police could not determine who was clearly involved in the fight and who the aggressors were. The court agreed.

Boston Municipal Court
The client, a college student, was arrested and charged by the Boston Police with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. The police alleged that he got in a fight and kicked and punched the victim, severely injuring him. At first the prosecution was calling for jail for the client. Attorney Brant negotiated with the prosecution that there were actually many people involved in this melee and that they could not prove who committed any of the victim's very serious injuries. The prosecution ultimately agreed.

The client, a college student, attending a late night dorm party gets involved in an argument with an older student. The argument escalates into a fight. The client wins the fight but then is arrested by the police. Attorney Brant alleges self-defense and after the hearing the court decides that no charges issue.

A long time respected public employee was arrested in the middle of the night and charged with Domestic Violence. Attorney Brant investigated the case and discovered many weaknesses. He argued with the prosecution that the case was weak and should be dismissed.

Roxbury District Court
The client got into a Road Rage argument with another driver. The two got out of their cars and got into a fight. The police came to the scene. The client panicked, got into his car and took off on a several miles long police chase that went from Roxbury, through Boston city streets, onto the Interstate, through the O'Neill Tunnel, ending in Charlestown. The client drove at high speeds, through wrong way traffic, on sidewalks. He struck several police and innocent bystander cars. He was charged with various felonies, including multiple counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. The prosecution was seeking years in jail for him. Attorney Brant presented to the Court and the prosecution that this action was not a proper portrayal of him; that he was a hard worker, a good father, and a good member of society, and that he should be given Probation and not be sent to jail. The judge agreed.

The client was charged with larceny. Attorney Brant persuaded the prosecution not to go forward with any of the charges, and it was dismissed prior to arraignment.

Waltham District Court
The client was charged by the police with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. They said that he attacked his girlfriend with a two foot machete that he keeps in his bedroom. Attorney Brant proved that the allegations were untrue, that the defendant never did anything other than have a machete in his bedroom mounted on the wall that was given to him as a remembrance gift from his grandfather.

A college student was arrested by the police and charged with several Larcenies and Robberies in the area. Attorney Brant showed the court and the prosecution that these allegations were not representative of him, that he was an exemplary student, that he continued to do a tremendous amount of community service, that he was an athlete, and that, if given the opportunity, he would prove to the court that he would be an asset to society. The court agreed.

The client was charged with Conspiracy to Traffick Heroin as the police charged that he, along with 3 others, was involved in a multi-state transportation and distribution organization that sold heroin. Attorney Brant argued that the evidence against his client, differing from the others, was weak. The prosecution agreed.

The client was an out-of-state executive traveling on a Massachusetts highway. A state trooper stopped him claiming that he was driving too close to the car in front of him. The trooper then searched his car and found a large amount of drugs. He was charged with Drug Distribution. Attorney Brant argued that the stop was unlawful and that the trooper had no basis to stop him. The court agreed.

The client, the owner of an automobile business, was arrested for Assault and Battery. The police came to his house because of a neighbor's call. When the police arrived they spoke to the client and to the client's wife separately. The police rushed to judgment and believed the wife's story and arrested the client. Attorney Brant proved to the court that the evidence supported his client and that the assault did not happen.

The client, an owner of a real estate company, was charged with committing an Indecent Assault and Battery. A conviction for this crime would have resulted in his having to register as a sex offender. Through his investigation, Attorney Brant was able to prove that the crime did not happen.

The client was driving a car when he was stopped by the police. The police then began questioning him and his passenger and ordered them out of the car. They searched the car and said that they found cocaine inside the car. Attorney Brant argued that the stop and subsequent search by the police were illegal. The prosecution and the court agreed.

The client was charged with Distribution of Cocaine in a School Zone. He faced a minimum of 7 years in state prison. Attorney Brant argued several evidentiary points that limited much of the government's evidence against his client. As a result the police's case was drastically limited. After negotiation, the government decided to give his client only 1 year in jail and he walked out.

The client was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Through negotiation, Attorney Brant convinced the prosecution that the client had done nothing wrong and that he was not at fault.

Boston Municipal Court
The client was charged with numerous counts of Assault and Battery against several police officers. Attorney Brant met with the prosecution, imploring with them that these criminal allegations were not a representation of the quality of person that the client is, that they were a mistake during a chaotic scene. The prosecution and the judge agreed.

Maine Superior Court
The client was charged with Trafficking Cocaine in the State of Maine. Maine Police arrested him and another and recovered a large amount of cocaine. The police said that the two of them had been transporting shipments of cocaine over several weeks into the state and then selling the drugs. Attorney Brant argued at suppression and dismissal hearings that the search and seizure of his client was illegal, and that there was not enough evidence against his client. The prosecution eventually agreed.

Charlestown District Court
The client was charged by the State Police with being involved in an accident on a highway and leaving the scene. The police said that the client crashed his/her car, and ran from the scene before the police could respond. The police further alleged that the client then filed a False Report of a Crime, claiming that someone had stolen his/her car and crashed it. After hearings in court, no charges were issued.

The client was accused by the police of committing a Masked Armed Robbery, a crime that carries a mandatory minimum 5 year state prison sentence. An eyewitness identified the client as the robber and said he was "100% sure". At the jury trial, Attorney Brant attacked this identification as well as the rest of the government's evidence, arguing that such was weak and could not be relied upon. The jury agreed.

The client, a successful real estate broker, was charged with domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The police accused him of hitting his girlfriend with a weapon in a store, allegedly in full view of a witness. Attorney Brant was able to prove that the witness' view was not that clear and that she was not able to see what she said she could see.

The client was charged with Receiving Stolen Property after the police used a search warrant to get into her house. They claimed they located stolen property and arrested her. Attorney Brant argued that the police had not met the standard to even get the search warrant and that the case should be dismissed.

The client faced a mandatory minimum sentence of at least 7 years in state prison for various drug and firearm offenses. Through negotiation and investigation into potential weaknesses in the government's case, Attorney Brant was able to negotiate a drastically reduced sentence.

The client was charged with Trafficking Oxycontin and various related offenses. He faced a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison. Through investigation, Attorney Brant was able to prove that much of the items were seized illegally and the evidence should be thrown out.

The client was charged with drunk driving(DUI,OUI,DWI). He was stopped while driving the wrong way on the highway. The police said he had a strong odor of alcohol, admitted to 5 drinks, and failed all the field sobriety tests. Attorney Brant was able to prove that in fact the client did very well on the field sobriety tests, and that the strong odor of alcohol and statement of 5 drinks did not prove he was drunk.

The client, a college student, was charged with Assault and Battery. Police alleged that upon arriving at a party they saw the client attack another partygoer. They arrested him. Attorney Brant proved through investigation that this report was inaccurate and in fact the client did not hit or assault the man at all.

Natick District Court
The client, a young college student, was on probation when he was grabbed by the police. They told him they were investigating him for his role in a large electronics theft ring. He was also accused of being in violation of his probation. The probation officer was looking for the client to do at least 6 months in jail. Attorney Brant convinced the police not to charge the client with any new crimes and he convinced the court not to find him in violation of his probation.

The client was charged with being the getaway driver in a planned Armed Robbery. At trial, Attorney Brant proved that the government could only prove that the robbery was committed, but failed to prove that the client participated in it at all.

The client was charged with several counts of Malicious Destruction of Property and Assaults with a Dangerous Weapon. The government was trying to get him sent to jail. Attorney Brant convinced the court that sending him to jail would do no one any good, that there were extenuating circumstances that should be considered. The judge agreed.

The client was charged with Trafficking in Cocaine and Possession of several guns. The police said that the client was dealing cocaine out of his apartment for several months. Through cross-examination, Attorney Brant was able to establish that the police investigation was not complete or totally accurate. The jury agreed.

A young college student was arrested and charged with bursting into an apartment, brandishing a gun and threatening to kill those inside. The prosecutors asked the judge to hold him without bail. Attorney Brant got him released and then argued that there was no evidence to charge him.

The client, a successful businessman with absolutely no prior record, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence. Any conviction or plea would have resulted in the client losing his job. Middlesex Superior Court
The client faced a long mandatory state prison sentence on weapons charges. The police testified at trial that they saw the client with a large gun in his hand while he was five feet away from them. The police testified that they then chased him on foot as he ran with the gun clearly in his hand. Moments later he was apprehended. The police testfied that the client admitted that the gun was his and that they caught him "fair and square". Attorney Brant argued that there were problems and inconsistencies with the police testimony and that the police just could not be believed.

A successful plumbing contractor was charged with committing Larceny of around $ 5,000.00 along with an accomplice. A businessman was alleged to have followed his wife and caught her with her boyfriend. He was then alleged to have followed him, jumped and attacked him and to have bitten off much of the boyfriend's ear, injuring him severely. At a six day trial, Attorney Brant proved through forensic evidence that the injury was not a bite mark. Attorney Brant also proved that the testimony of both the boyfriend and the wife just could not be believed.

An auto mechanic was charged in 2 separate incidents of driving a car after his license had been suspended. Each charge carried mandatory imprisonment.
